John was an actor for nearly 20 years working in theatre TV and Radio and receiving a Manchester Evening News Best Actor Award in 1997.
In 2001 he became a script editor working with Paul Abbott on ‘Alibi’ a 2 x 90 min drama for ITV before joining Company Pictures as one of the original creative team on ‘Shameless’. On series 2, John also wrote an episode.
On Series 3 he was the Producer, for which he received a BAFTA nomination, and for Series 4 and 5 was the Series Producer picking up another BAFTA nomination. After leaving ‘Shameless’, John went on to ‘Skins’, another Company Pictures show, producing Series 4.
John is currently executive producer for series at Company working on, amongst other things, ‘Skins’ and ‘Wild At Heart’.
